Desde su mismo nacimiento, el cine se vio ceñido a una serie de normas y valores que le impedían expresar l. a. naturaleza radical de sus potencias y, no obstante, unos cuantos visionarios han logrado extirparlo de su laberinto round. No se trata de practicar una destrucción overall del cine en todos los casos, sino de transformarlo en otras formas artísticas. Paracinema, en oposición al cine expandido, es l. a. realización de l. a. inspiration de cine a un nivel conceptual, experiencial y artístico. Se trata, en cualquier caso, de generar una experiencia cinemática desconectada, entera o parcialmente de su aparato tradicional.
Esperanza Collado (Valencia, 1976) es artista e investigadora. Su trabajo, ya sea curatorial, artístico o investigador, toma como foco los angeles desmaterialización del cine o paracinema –la posibilidad de expresar aspectos propios del cine a través de otras formas artísticas–. Creadora de l. a. muestra internacional Márgenes, co-fundó el Experimental movie membership en Dublín y l. a. revista Schema. Asimismo, programa cine vanguardista, publica textos en revistas digitales e imparte clases y conferencias en centros de arte y universidades de España e Irlanda. Recientemente ha realizado los proyectos artísticos ‘Operation Rewrite’ y ‘Cinema… Corpus vs. Cerebrum’.
